Once again some good bowling and some luck by the Cobras kept the us to 125… Having said that the outfield was slow, so getting the runs is not going to be a walk in the park, so to speak. We have them 2/40 and lucky not to be more with some more great bowling from “Handles” Stein who finished with 2 for not many, and “Big Willy Style” Davis.. they both bowled the lines and lengths to suggest we have a chance at bowling the Cobras out for under a 100.
The tail once again wagged, with a run a ball knock from “Mr IGA” Sutcliffe (27), and “Iron Gloves” Roberts (19) putting some respectability back into a some what meager top order performance… Handles was looking strong on 15 off 50 balls, but was run out after mid off dropped a sitter and threw down the stumps to catch him just short of the line (we think), right Muschie.. next we saw one of the funniest run outs this year… after taking 5 runs off one Tate over, and coping a mouthful for it, Lawso smashed Rowe to the long on boundary for a four, then played a classic french cut to the next ball… while attempting the second run, Lawso turned, tumbled, turned some more, fell over, tumbled more, then ended a foot short of the line… out.. run out..
