This was a Kookaburra team of old… We worked together as a team, and that feeling we had at the start of the season was back…
It was an overcast day, the pitch looked like a belter, CHI won the toss and elected to bat.. CHI opening batsman got off to a great start, and raced to 90 with out loss.. Handles and Fingers toiled hard with absolutely no luck… A master stroke by captain Gus to bring on Lega Ham, paid off when he took the opening wicket which started the slide to see CHI slip to 6 for 120 at tea.. By days end CHI has recovered to be all out for 219.. Chief destroyer on the day wasLega Ham with 4/46 off 17 (this was Lega’s best bowling figures since 1972 when opened the bowling for a young Beenleigh side and took 9/17).. He was ably supported by the bowling machine that is Handles with 3/60 off 24, and chipping in with 2/31 off 6 was spinning demon and opening bat Darts Geraghty.
As luck would have it, day two of this battle would start out the hottest day since forever… Having been revved up in the dressing room by a passionate speech from a couple of the team, we headed out into battle.. the openers got us off to steady start with out being spectacular.. the highlight of the day was Philert Bourke with a sparkling 83 off 167 balls…
This win was a great effort all round, fielders supported the bowlers, and the batsmen, ground it out with some great partnerships… Well done 1st grade and go the Kooka’s

Well all I can say at the moment, is a sensational effort by the boys in second grade, to come up with a outright win, after losing on first innings… Report to follow of the game that was a beauty..
