Gold take 4th Grade Premiership

Date March 17, 2008

4th Grade Final: Vs Loganholme Red @ Malling Street
LHR – 142; LVCC Gold 9/143(1st Innings Win, and Premiers)

Having won the toss, and the only thing they won all game, Loganholme Red decided to bat on what only can be described as a road… Not a Muschy style road, but a Malling Street road.. Right from the get go Desmond Gibbsy Gibbs had Loganholme on the backfoot, and it wasn’t long before he had the opening bat, bowled neck & crop, and reeling at 1/10.

Off his next 12 overs, Gibbsy proceeded to destroy the Loganholme lineup finishing with 4/45… He was ably supported by Shaun Cracker Horne who took 3/22 off 7.. All out just after tea on day one for 142, Loganholme looked dejected and so they should of, clearly not enough runs..

Team Gold - 2007/08 4th Grade Premiers

Loganholme hit back with two quick wickets to have Team Gold struggling at 2/12.. Enter Tony Tiny Small, who strode to the wicket with one job in mind… to win the game for the Village.. And win the game he did.. Tiny proceeded to give Loganholme a batting lesson, stroking the ball to all parts of the ground in a chanceless innings of 86no (205 balls)… It was a magnificent display of timing, and precision stroke play..

Thanks to Tiny’s cracker innings Team Gold rolled past Loganholme to help LVCC their second 4th grade premiership in as many years, with the Blue team taking out last years trophy…
