I would like to thank all who participated in Logan Village CC 3rd’s in our season just completed.

We certainly had a rollercoaster ride – losing our first three matches, then stringing together six weeks or more of consistantly good cricket to position ourselves in the top four just before Christmas. Then it all went wrong- the less said about the 2010 part of our season the better.

There were many contributing factors to our demise post Christmas, many valid reasons or excuses in fact, however, the simple fact was our on field performances let us down. From where I stand I saw a big improvement within our club, In so far as player interaction and a more harmonious approach to training and also to game day. From my point of view this is so important and something we must build on next season if we are to succeed in growing our club into a more successful unit both on and off the field.

To Nathan,Gav,Shorty,Andrew,Tat’s,Watty,Shane,Jarryd,Trav,Brad,Dave,Jim,Tony,Cougar,Damien,Matty and J.L. thanks for your efforts during the season. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your mateship both on and off the field. Any of you wishing to have a chat about your season and any ways of improving your performance I’d be only to happy to speak with you. And in reverse I may seem too old – but I love to hear from you on any improvements I could make to my on field performance, be it personally or any Captaincy issues that need to be addressed.

A special thank you to Nathan for his efforts in lodging each and every Saturday’s scores onto My Cricket- not an easy task considering some of the days we put in – then going home to that task.

To Gary and Michael many thanks for what you both do during the week to make each Saturday possible for us the players.

Don’t forget the presentation night on the Friday, 16/04/2010

Enjoy the off season, and stay safe..

Poppa Bear John

To All Players,

Tomorrow is the start of a very exciting new season for the Logan Village Cricket Club. I am proud to say that we are fielding the most teams in well over 10 years. We have a 2nd Grade side and 2 3rd Grade sides contesting the Gold Coast Gabba Sporting Products Cup, 3 4th Grade teams entered to contest the newly named Aussie Car Loans Cup and an under 11 juniors team contesting the local Beenleigh Cricket Association Junior Competition. This has been a fantastic result for our great club and one that you should all be very proud of.

On mentioning the Aussie Car Loan Cup, this competition has now grown from 4 teams last year to 8 this year, I would like to thank Gary and Shane on the hard work you guys have put into organising these teams and helped it grow. I big thank you has to go to Aussie Car Loans CEO Joe Martinevic on his sponsorship of not only the competition but also the sponsorship for our club, without these businesses helping us out financially we don’t have a club, so thanks Joe on behalf of all the players and lets hope we can bring home another premiership for you this year.

To all the new members that have joined this year, thank you for choosing Logan Village Cricket Club and I hope the time you have already spent here has been what you were hoping for. To all the captains this year, goodluck and thank you for taking on the responsibility of leading your team.

Remember that your scores need to be loaded onto the MyCricket website by 10.00am on the Sunday morning after, so if you don’t know how to complete this please contact our Treasurer/Webmaster Dale Lawson on 0414292906 and he will talk you through the process. Failure to do this will result in points deductions and fines to the club.

I would like to wish everyone the best of years and hope that you all go out there and perform to the best of your ability but the main thing is to go out there and enjoy yourselves. Enjoy spending time with your team mates, celebrate big wins (Responsibly of Course), be happy for your team mates when they do something special but above all play the game hard and play fair.

Go the Village

Michael Pimm
Logan Village Cricket Club President
